Getting to Know You

We came to the coast for some Labor Day R&R/great photo opp's for the novice photographer.  Still getting to know the in's and out's of this monster but loving every minute.  More photos to come in the days ahead!

Friday Fun!

I'm getting more and more comfortable with my new camera and I'm loving it! Last Friday Tommy and I had a ball chasing each other around the house.  We finally ended up behind our chair in our living room next to our back door.  It turned out to be a perfect spot for some great pictures.  The natural light was beautiful and I am madly in love with this little man.

New Camera = LOVE

I know NOTHING about cameras but over the past several months I have done a lot of research and asked a lot of questions and ultimately found my mate (Canon 60D). I knew I wanted to invest in a camera that would take beautiful images and more. Photography is such an art but I also know an amazing camera will certainly help me, the non photographer, to take a beautiful image without trying too hard. It is my goal to take an intro photography class in the next couple of months so that I can learn all of the many facets of my camera. I'll leave the big pictures to the pros but will enjoy getting better and better every day. You'll notice off the bat I started with the simple things...mainly those that didn't move every five seconds. As I got more comfortable, Tommy and I had a ball. Luckily, I have an amazing model who works well with me for FREE and doesn't complain too much. As long as I keep some goldfish and a passy nearby he's good for hours! Enjoy my first few shots with my new camera!

Chooo - Chooo!

Tommy absolutely LOVES the train at Brackenridge Park! The weather these past few weeks has been perfect for it. Although he looks quite serious, he really loves it. His favorite thing to do is clap his hands and stand on the seat and hold onto the rail of the chair. Choo - Choo!

I wanted to share a sweet little picture of Tommy that was taken a couple of weeks ago when I took him to visit my coworkers. This picture truly embodies him at his best. He has the biggest smile and I think this captured it so well.

Tommy's Playroom

I conquered a MAJOR task that had been driving me crazy for some time now. Over the new year's break my mom, sister and I all cleaned out my former office and created a playroom for Tommy. First and foremost this is such a blessing to have a room where you can put all of his things and shut the door if you have to. He absolutely loves the space and his new ABC mat is perfect for crawling...which is doing a lot of these days. At first I had a rug down and he moved around a bit, but not as much as he is now. I have the pack n' play set up in case I need to run out of the room I can put him in there to play safely. Our sweet baby sitters gave him their large giraffe as you'll notice in the background. He doesn't quite understand it now, but he will in the future I'm sure. All in all this was a huge project (for anyone who has stepped foot in my house prior you may remember the massive piles in this room). I am so happy it's done and the smile on Tommy's face is priceless.

Our First Family Christmas

Here are some shots from our first family Christmas photo shoot. We loved every minute of it and Tommy REALLY had a ball. We have discovered he loves the sound of Katie's camera. :)
